This Colosseum tour with Roman Forum and Palatine Hill is specially designed to bring together all of the best that Ancient Rome has to offer. Your professional tour guide will bring the ruins to life for you and your group in a way that is not possible without an expert leading the way.
The first stop of our tour is the famous Colosseum, the symbol of Rome. Your tour guide will tell you all the secrets behind this great amphitheater. You will get inside the Colosseum in a group of no more than 15 people and a licensed guide, so your tour will be relaxed and intimate. Your expert guide will take you back in time through the bloody past of the amphitheater as you listen to the tales of gladiators, mock sea battles, and public executions. You will also learn about the concept of “bread and circuses”, a practice used by the Roman Emperors to prevent the population from rioting.
The next stop of the tour is Palatine Hill, the most famous of the seven hills of Rome. This place was the center of Ancient Rome. During the republic, the Palatine was home to patrician families. From here, you will admire the views over the Roman Forum and the Circus Maximus, where chariot races were held. It’s said that Romulus and Remus were found here by the she-wolf who kept them alive.
The last stop of the tour is the Roman Forum. For centuries, the Forum was the center of day-to-day life in Ancient Rome. You will take a walk along “Via Sacra”, the main artery through the Roman Forum and also you will discover some of the most incredible ruins, like the Arch of Titus, Basilica of Maxentius, and the Temple of Julius Caesar, where people still leave flowers and tributes in honor of Rome’s most famous citizen.
