In the beginning of our tour, we will admire the Colosseum from outside and your professional guide will tell you the story behind this marvellous monument.
Next to the Colosseum, we will see the triumphal Arch of Constantine, dedicated to the emperor Constantine the Great.
Continuing with our tour, we will see Via Dei Fori Imperiali, a road that runs in a straight line from the Piazza Venezia to the Colosseum. Its course takes it over parts of the Forum of Trajan, Forum of Augustus and Forum of Nerva, parts of which can be seen on both sides of the road.
We will arrive in Piazza Venezia, where four major roads meet. These roads are: Via del Corso, Via del Plebiscito, Via di Teatre Marcello and Via dei Fori Imperiali. Also, you will see here the Vittoriano monument, or Altare della Patria.
We will also see Campo de’ Fiori, currently one of the most beloved parts of the city. The piazza has still maintained a little of the old charm of ancient Rome, animated every morning by a traditional market with its wooden stalls.
Of course, we will visit Piazza Navona too, one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Rome, with three impressive fountains, including Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi with its large obelisk at the centre. The baroque church of Sant’Agnese in Agone provides an impressive backdrop.
After that, we will see the Pantheon, a true architectural wonder. It is the best-preserved ancient building. Visiting this amazing monument today is to be almost transported back to the Roman Empire itself.
Our last stop of the tour will be at the most famous fountain in Rome, the Trevi Fountain. Be ready to take some memorable pictures and don’t forget to toss some coins if you want to come back to Rome!
