Go back in time as you walk through the Gladiator’s Gate and stand in the Arena where the battles took place!
This unique guided tour will start by walking under a great archway known as “The Gate of Death”, directly on the reconstructed Arena where the savage gladiatorial games once took place. Standing on the Arena Floor is an experience nothing can beat. Even if you are a history buff or just a travel enthusiast, your guide’s stories will bring the roaring games back to life. With no crowds to be seen on the floor, the Colosseum can never be so atmospheric.
Follow your guide up to the second level, to see what the crowds saw, tracing the Colosseum’s circumference in an effort to understand what it must have been like when the amphitheater was full, the crowds were roaring and a gladiator’s destiny hung on their whims.
After visiting the Arena Floor, your tour guide will take you to the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum.
Explore the amazing Palatine Hill, the most famous hill of Rome, where Romulus and Remus were found by the she-wolf who kept them alive. Palatine Hill is a large open-air museum full of incredible ruins like the Palace of Domitian, House of Livia and Augustus, House of Tiberius, Temple of Magna Mater, and others.
You also have a guided tour of the Roman Forum, the center of day-to-day life in Ancient Rome. Here you can see the remains of a lot of important temples, like the Temple of Saturn, Temple of Vesta, Temple of Antoninus Pius, and the most important attraction, Via Sacra (the ancient triumphal “sacred” road).
