Continuing with the tour, we will discover Chiesa of St. Louis of the French. Located not far from Piazza Navona, this is the national church of France in Rome. The French character is visible from the exterior itself, which has several statues recalling national history. The interior also has frescoes by Charles-Joseph Natoire recounting stories of Saint Louis IX, Saint Denis and Clovis. We will also discover here famous paintings by Caravaggio and “Histories of Saint Cecilia” by Domenichino. After that, we will go straight to the Church of St. Augustine. First conceived in 1286, the church is known for its roman renaissance architecture style, artworks by artists such as Caravaggio, Raphael, Guercino and Bernini, and for being the burial place of Saint Monica, mother of Saint Augustine of Hippo.
